The Tampa Bay Rays have passed their first test in their temporary home, Steinbrenner Field. The Rays home opener on Friday against the Colorado Rockies is a sellout. Critics, particularly on social media, have been piling on the Rays, hoping the franchise will move out west. It’s not going to happen. The Rays are staying in Florida.
As most of you know, Hurricane Milton tore the roof off of the Rays home, Tropicana Field. A few months later, franchise majority owner Stuart Sternberg said he was pulling out of the proposed, new stadium deal, leading to a public outcry. But was Sternberg’s reasoning for leaving the project legitimate? I break it all down on this edition of DAN ON SPORTS.
