Justin Rose has taken the first round lead at the Masters. Nothing new there. Rose shot a 7-under-par-65 to take a three shot lead over three golfers, including defending champion Scottie Scheffler. Rose, who has never won the Masters, has led the tournament after the first round seven times, more than any other golfer, including Jack Nicklaus, winner of six green jackets.
Speaking of Nicklaus, who along with Gary Player and Tom Watson hit the ceremonial first ball to start the tournament on Thursday, he is predicting great things ahead for Tiger Woods. Nicklaus says once Woods gets healthy, he could dominate the Champion’s Tour.

Meanwhile, sports enthusiasts may note an interesting photographer at the Masters, baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. A serious photographer, who took up the profession after his playing days, Griffey has been credentialed to cover the tournament.
