Mike Brown gets the call
Clark critical of WNBA bonus. Kershaw does it. Yankees don’t. Jays tied for first
Good morning, all! I hope your Thursday is off to a great start.
It took a month, but the New York Knicks finally have their head coach. According to several reports, Mike Brown will be the coach to succeed Tom Thibodeau. Brown, 55, has extensive experience as a head coach, leading the Cavaliers twice, including once to the NBA Finals, the Lakers and most recently Sacramento, where he was fired last season. He is a former NBA Coach of the Year.
Reports are the team and Brown are working out details of the contract. The deep-pocket Knicks still owe Thibodeau $30M, in case you’re wondering why your cable bill keeps increasing.
Word is the Knicks like Brown not only for his coaching experience but his willingness to collaborate with the front office. Don’t know if that was a veiled knock on “Tibbs” but in the Big Apple the bottom line is the bottom line and if Brown fails to take the Knicks to next season’s finals, he will learn quickly how fans will turn on him in a New York minute.
