The Wall St. Journal and other publications are reporting that the SNY Network, which is the home of most New York Mets telecasts, may be for sale. The network is owned by the Wilpon and Katz families, former owners of the Mets.
The ever-changing television landscape, especially when it comes to regional sports networks, such as SNY, is in a state of flux. Case in point is MSG, television home of the Knicks and Rangers. That network had to perform some financial gymnastics to avoid bankruptcy and now there are reports it may merge with YES, home of the Yankees and Nets. MSG and YES have already formed a partnership with their joint Gotham sports app.
