Geno to the Jets
Remembering Johnny Most
Good morning, all! It’s hump day!!!
We speculated, when the Las Vegas Raiders parted company with Geno Smith, that the QB could be heading back to the New York Jets. Who kneW? Numerous reports indicate Smith is returning to the Jets.
Good for him. The Jets have a long road ahead to become competitive, but maybe, just maybe, Geno might find the fountain of youth and help bring the Jets back to respectability. With Frank Reich as OC, as a coach once told me: “You never know about these things.”
Here are some other thoughts on the second Wednesday in March:
One of the social media sites on X posted this and I agree wholeheartedly:
That was what the Big East used to look like. Brings memories of what was the nation’s top basketball conferences IMHO. Someone wrote on social media, you cannot live in the past. That does not mean you cannot salute it with fond memoriesl.
Speaking of which, I used to love listening to Boston Celtics games on WBZ radio with the legendary Johnny Most. I came across this picture on social media. Here was Most, broadcasting from the rafters of the real Boston Garden, smoking like a chimney, ripping the refs on the radio and rooting for the Celtics in his every call:
By the way, if we have to live in the present, how come Andy Griffith reruns are still one of the most popular programs on TV?
Call me fired up for the Players Championship, starting Thursday.
So what if Cal Raleigh did not want to shake Seattle Mariners teammate Randy Arozarena’s had, because they were on opposite teams in the WBC. Once again, the internet tries to turn every story into the most important piece in the history of the universe. Guaranteed Raleigh and Arozarena will work it out so cut the click bait.
Good call by Netflix to summon Matt Vasgersian to broadcast Opening Day game between the Yankees and Giants on Netflix. Amazing to think that OD is two weeks from today.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and thank you for subscribing!
